Engage your team to get involved in a ‘Blue Sky’ meeting about your company’s future. Through guided discussions, get to a consensus on some of the overall goals you all can get behind going into the next year.
Plan the Year and Work Backwards
Have everyone get into the planning process and when you are ready, start to work backwards on all the objectives and details you need to get that accomplished. Your SMART goals experience will go a long way to create an effective plan, full of pivot options and multiple opportunities.
Have Contingencies in Place
If the COVID pandemic has taught us one thing it’s the need to know when something is ‘enough.’ This might not be the year for over-stretching goals, but one that can be achievable and expanded upon as we come out of this business contraction. Setting an effective contingency plan in place will make it possible for you to be ready to be flexible when opportunities arise.
